Another test

Got the P.S fixed, added a opto switch to the cycle start and a new cartridge. Set it up with the same old dental plaster and got a nice print out. Dimension is about right at +- 0.1mm. the part is about 31mm wide x 90mm long x 10mm tall. The original cartridge ink seams to hold well the part definition when printing and soaking the plaster enough to give it a good strength to handle it and at same time not bleading out of the contour. It gets much better after curing it in the oven then infiltrate it with cyano but still not close to the zcorp material strength

Next step is to build a depowdering station, and run more tests.

Camera shots makes it looks worst then it really is.

  1. Dear Alvaro,

I used to be an active reader of your blog (unfortunately no more entries in the last months :( and I am writing you because I think a new consumer led innovation project could possibly be of interest to you and your readers. We recently launched a new 3D printing platform www.3Dprintplace.com that is designed to make 3D printing more accessible to home users, academic institutions, and small businesses, by serving as a one-stop-shop for everything related to 3D printing. The platform is entirely fueled by user-to-user collaboration – users are able to offer all needed 3D printing services/products to other community members. The site is 100% free to use.

3D Print Place evolved from a student project and its core idea is to make 3D printing available to everyone, including those without a technology background. Here’s a link to our launch presentation at The 3D Printing Event in the Netherlands: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuglXEpaXt4

It would be great if you could take a look and explore the site to see if it is worth sharing and introducing to your readers. If you’d like I would be more than happy to send you additional information about the platform, as well as set up a time to speak with you personally.

I realize you get a lot of emails - thank you very much for your time. If you have any questions or comments, I am happy to answer them:
